With the weather holding out, this year's Annual Blessing of the Animals brought over 80 people and their dogs, cats, hamster, and even a pig and a horse to Sacred Heart Church parking lot on Saturday morning at 9:00am! Fr. Peter Kaseta had Jean Bissonette read a scripture passage from Genesis prior to saying a blessing over the animals. He then proceeded to walk around sprinkling each animal with holy water. This may have been the largest gathering of dogs north of the Westminster Dog Show, which included such breeds as Wheaten Terrier( Fr. Greenleaf's CeeCee for one!), Keeshond, Golden retriever, Labradors of several colors, a pair of Black Newfoundlands , Collies and the like.
