Scott Valcourt and his wife Michelle reside in an 1800s farmhouse in Gray around the corner from our St. Gregory the Great worship site. A native of Auburn, Scott is the first associate teaching professor of computer science at the Roux Institute, the Northeastern University Global Campus location in Portland, Maine. In the parish, he serves as a lector at the 4pm Mass at St. Gregory and is the diocesan Scout chairman of the Catholic Committee on Scouting for the Diocese of Portland, Maine. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and is a Knight in the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. In the Boy Scouts of America, he is the Pine Tree Council vice president of camping and is a member of the national Order of the Arrow sub-committees for data analytics and regional operations. He is an avid gardener and enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, and making maple syrup.
