The excitement of the altar installation has begun! We hope you are as eager as we are now that the project is under way. Work will happen during the week, and the church will be left as ready as possible for weekend masses, events, and weddings. We have a summary of the installation schedule below, but please remember that there may be some changes as we move along. No project would be complete without a few wrenches thrown in along the way. While the renovation part of any project can be chaotic and messy, the end result will be a beautiful blessing to our parish and worth the small inconveniences. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as the project goes on.
Altar Installation Schedule:
4/22: The organ was protected and parts and equipment were brought from the Monastery of the Precious Blood to Sacred Heart. The risers and carpet in altar area were removed, but the front extension was left for the current altar to be used for Mass.
4/23: Father Dan decided on the exact placement of the altar, and floor fortification began where the new altar will stand.
4/25: The altar base was installed and allowed to set over weekend.
4/29-5/27: Altar reassembly continues every Monday through Thursday.
5/27-5/31: Floor extension in front of altar area will be removed along with any remaining carpet; floor refinishing hopefully done this week.
We will hold a spring cleaning event after the project is complete. Please stay tuned for details and join us! If you have any questions about the project, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Melissa at 553.7158 or
