Haiti - There will be a door collection this weekend in support of our commitment to the church in Haiti. Your donation as you exit the church will be appreciated.
The financial support is given to three groups of the Jacmel Diocese and includes the parish of Sacre-Coeur de Meyer, its parish center at Cyvadier and the Sisters who conduct a community program, and, thirdly, the parish of Ste. Therese de l’Infant Jesu at Marbial. Because your support has been strong and steadfast, we have been able to meet our commitment to the three groups.
Father Bertrand Dieuveille of Sacre-Coeur has continued his pastoral work and has taken extra measures to help families who suffered losses in the October hurricane.
At Cyvadier, Sister Brigida has continued the education/training program, as well as a children’s feeding program. She has been joined recently by other Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the group is now working with seven nuns. The “international” group carries out its work in French, Spanish and Haitian creole.
In the mountain area, support has been offered to Father Phanel Chery of Ste. Therese, especially focused on a mid-day meal for the students attending the parish secondary school.
So you see, your donations to the “sister parish” program are crucial and we thank you.
