Deacon Dennis J. Popadak was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate by Bishop Joseph J. Gerry, O.S.B., on June 14, 1998 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland.
Born in Brunswick, Deacon Dennis graduated from Lisbon High School before earning a degree in speech from the University of Maine in 1971. For over 30 years, he worked in sales/service for American Business Systems. Deacon Dennis and his wife Beverly have two daughters Amy & Sara and enjoy the additon of four grandsons, who are all living close by, in Maine. In August of 2019 they will celebrate their 50th wedding Anniversary. Deacon Dennis was assigned to Holy Martys Parish as his first assignment after ordination in 1998 and has been serving there and now in the Parish of the Holy Eucharist for the past 21 years. During his ministry in the parish, he has become a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and was installed in the Equestiran Order of the Holy Sepulcre of Jerusalem.
